Laugh with someone who’s been there
Help us raise $10,000 by September 15th so we can reduce our 50 plus Waiting List!
Why should you care?
“Laughter is the shortest distance between two people.” Victor Borge
Laughing Like Crazy is an innovative program that teaches participants how to develop a stand-up comedy routine based on their experiences with mental health issues and the mental health system. The program combines the benefits of peer support with the physical, social, and emotional benefits of laughter and the terrifying challenge of public speaking and performance.
Where will your money go?
Like most programs we offer, Laughing Like Crazy is available free to participants. After seven successful years, the Laughing Like Crazy program has 100 graduates, and a growing wait list of 50 people for the next program. You can help give more people the opportunity to experience LLC for themselves. Please don’t make them wait a second longer!
Will your donation make a difference?
Yes! Many Laughing Like Crazy graduates have returned to work, earned promotions, finished school, discovered creative passions, healed, strengthened, and developed relationships — and learned to laugh again!
Will your donation change the world?
Yes! In some people’s “world”, Laughing Like Crazy performances reduce the stigma attached to mental health issues, and increase knowledge and awareness. They also allow program participants to tell their own stories in a powerful, humorous, and engaging way, while spreading the joy of laughter. Last year, LLC shows had a combined audience of more than 1,000 people. Audiences say they come away inspired, proud, and with a positive attitude. Some have com plained, however, about having sore faces and sides from too much laughing!
