Are you parenting an anxious child? Need support?

I am thrilled to be announcing that as of September there will be a parent group for those of us who are parenting children who struggle with anxiety.
PEACE of mind Support Group

Are you parenting an anxious child?
• Parenting our children
• Encouraging our children
• Accepting our children
• Compassion for our children
• Empowering our children

When a child struggles with anxiety, support becomes equally important for the entire family – not only for the affected child.

This group brings together parents who are experiencing similar issues. Let’s build that village of support.

Through brainstorming and sharing stories, tips and tricks we can help the whole family find peace.

Please come out and join us. Share as much or as little as you like knowing that either way you are always welcome.
Let’s help our children soar to new heights.

Community Room
217 Laurier Ave.
Milton, ON L9T3R5

A new study – do you want to participate

The Child Anxiety Research (CARe) Program at Kent State University is interested in learning more about child anxiety and its relationship to family functioning. We are seeking to recruit parents with a child under the age of 18 and who lives at home. In addition, we are interested in recruiting the oldest child of these parents, as long he or she is between 8 and 17 years of age. Participants will be asked to complete an internet-based survey. The survey will take parents no more than 45 minutes to complete. It will take about the same amount of time for the child to complete his or her portion of the survey as well. Parents are free to participate even if their kids don’t want to fill out the survey and even if they don’t feel that there child is very anxious. If you are interested in learning more about this study, please visit Kent State.

This study has been approved by the Kent State University Institutional Review Board.

Please note that information posted on this blog site is for informational purposes only. Should you and your family choose to participate “The Raising Socially Anxious Children’s Blog” can not be held responsible for any interaction between yourself and the University.

Leap of faith

To all of the families that have taken their children to school this morning and have hoped that their children have the courage to get through the day trust me when I say that leap of faith will come and it’s amazing when it does. If  you’ve been a long time reader of the blog you’ll know just how important this leap of faith was for us.

Here’s to new beginnings and faith in ourselves.
